Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him. ~James 1:12~

What happens then Lord, when my circumstances change....? What happens when you move me and I do not know where or how the Word lives in me.....? I can honestly admit that sometimes I am overwhelmed and exhausted. I can honestly admit that following you in the way you have shown is is not easy. It is so hard, sometimes I faulter from your way, when I want to fall to the wayside.....

Then Lord, in the quiet moments when I am still, when I am silent, when I am in the middle of the depth of the enemies game of sorrow....

You come to me. You fill me with your love. You reward me for the choices I have made. Even when I feel the enemies darkness envelope me and covers me. It is like when I get to the bottom of what I think is never ending darkness you open the clouds and through the haze a ray of light comes through. This light is brighter than any light my eyes have seen. This light is so warm, but not a burn, a warmth that melts me from the depths of my soul and fills my earthly body in every inche!

You know me. You love me. You carry me when I am unable to go on.

Being a daughter of Christ is not easy but it is what you command. Being a lady of Christ is what we are called to do...

But in the world we live in it is so hard, the persecution is not what I can handle, the strength of me alone is not good enough.

This world that I live in is cruel and mean, it is a world where the enemie is creating his realm. I feel that it is getting worse and worse...

Thankfully, I do not live, walk, talk, dress, parent, be a wife, a friend, a mentor, a woman who must work for her family to eat, a mother, a daughter, a granddaughter, a neice, a cousin, a woman bymyself.

Thankfully, of these things I must, have to , want to , need to do, I do with your hand on my life. I do these with you carry the real heaviness that I will not know of until I meet with You. I do these things for the love of You. I do these things for the Heavenly Home. I do these things for The Lord my God whom shed His very own for my Salvation.

Yes, modesty is not easy! Yes, living Your Word is not easy! Yes, walking side by side with those hate You, is not easy!

Yes, I will be a modesty woman, raise my family in Your word, walk side by side with those who Hate you!

Because I am called to go out into the world and be Your Light. And if I am able to give one person or thousands Your love and they share it with others then I am doing Your work.

I am blessed to be persecuted. I am blessed to be hated. I am blessed to be in hardship. I am blessed to be a daughter of Christ.

“In prayer, something like an echo takes place. When you strike a note on the piano, corresponding strings in all the other pianos in the room start to vibrate. It is just the same when we express a pure wish in our ardent prayers: all around us we mobilize angels who are inspired by the same wish.” —Richard Wurmbrand

Thank you for joining me in my journey with the Lord,

In Him all is possible,

Being Modest Through Christ.

Ladies, we live in a world, where many women, and sadly even younger girls, dress inappropriately, to school and in public, you may say "that's terrible, they should put some clothes on"

But do you ever ask yourself, do they know any better? have they ever been taught?
are they having emotional problems? do they dress like this for the attention they don't get normally?
we Tend to judge to quickly to actually see beyond the book cover, then ladies, their are the young girls and women alike, who know what they are wearing, don't care how they have been taught, and know better, the young girls, that are hiding emotional problems, and whether they dress like that for attention or not, it doesn't matter.

Ladies need to stand up, for a rightful cause, stand up to this so called "fashion" of tank tops and short skirts and shorts, cleavage baring blouses and "hip clothing" I don't care what's "in" or what's considered old fashioned, I dress not to say "I'm modest" but to tell myself, "I'm pleasing the Lord with all my heart" and ladies, by no means is that bragging,
I do it because I want to strive to be pleasing God, and I want to strive to let others see Christ in me.

after all, ladies, we should strive, but that's my opinion, I'm not throwing it at you.

Defenceless....
Sometimes we all feel that way, as if everyone is bullying at you, telling you that your going to (hades) if you wear pants, what can you say? how can you defend yourself? your Defenceless.

I believe in my opinion, that it is YOUR  conviction, on what you wear.
Yours alone, people can sometimes, dig it and stab it into you about the skirts and pants argument.
But the only one that can change your mind, is God.

Yes Ladies it's as simple as that, we can write these blogs, but it most likely will not change it, I myself, read a blog post about wearing pants, and I was convicted over that, which is why when I say, when Conviction gets you, your done.

Sister, if you are struggling, with the choice of what to wear, if you are caught between being cool or ugly, if your afraid people will look at you differently, please, take time to ask yourself this question, "is this what God wants?" or is it "what you and everyone else want." sometimes what seems good in our eyes, isn't really all that good, we are just too blind too see at the moment.

I pray that if you are having those struggles that God helps you, and gives you an answer to the questions and pleads you have been praying for or about. I pray he lays the right choice on your heart, and that it brings you closer to him, that when you walk down the street or through a store, that people see Christ in you.

I Love you all dearly. Thank you for reading.

In His Honor.

~Ephesians 5~

Lets look at this chapter together and in Blue font I will put my thoughts. Join me in taking a look at this wonderful chapter in a most wonderful book.

Ephesians 5
1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Children believe in all things unseen, children are not corrupt or perverse in their thinking, they are as pure as the driven snow and know and love God effortlessley. Love, here is described as an action. Christ gave himself for the love of all man, for nothing in return, for simply our spiritual lives to be death no more and to be able to be alive in God's eyes free from our hideous sins.

3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Wow, what a tall order! Fornication: to me this means no sexual relations all around with anyone, at anytime. God did not make you to go performing any such act with anyone but your husbands. This is quite a statement for us as mothers to raise our daughters, and us as daughter to aspire to. We shall not covet...materials things hold no water, when we die they sit there continuaous to collect dust, to not put all of yourself into wanting and lusting after THINGS. Verse for really hits home, because to me this means no cursing, no making fun of others, no saying things you do not mean, and the big one is do not do things out of convience. Wow, todays age conviences are the way of life. So these are really hard to do. But must be done because the Lord our God commands it of us..No matter how tall the order is. And most importantly, Verse five, here God illustrates how these will not come into the Kingdom of God. Now here it does not say if unsaved it says if you do these things....what a thought to ponder. I believe that if you have done these things prior to being washed in the blood of Christ, then your sins are forgiven, and if you do these things after and are not truly repentant and learn from the errors of your ways, and pray to the Lord for forgiveness then your judgement seat of Christ shall illuminate verse five.
6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

I believe that the Lord our God gives us the warning of all false prophets and unbelievers, we must be aware, we must be proactive, we must not fellowship with them but call them on it, have them try and explain and we must know the Bible in order to prove their theories wrong! We must have Gods word in our hearts minds and souls iin order to rebuke and reprove these that are not walking in the light and want to snatch us away from Christ.
12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

All things that are done will come out into the Light....Good or bad, and the truth will always be brought to the surface of any situations. And God will have the final say in all things!
14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
It is very important how we as children of God act, walk and talk. For if we are dissillusioned with alcohol, drugs or other addictions we are not walking with the Lord but rather in our own stead, fill your mind, body and soul with the Holy spirit. This is why dressing, talking and living your life in a modest fashion is so important. Because the Holy spirit would not dress of a man if he were made to be a woman, he would not drowned himself out by filling up on drugs and alcohol, he would not walk around in clothing that barely covers himself, flaunting about and priding himself on sexiness, selfishness, and down right pornographic attire, he would not swear at his fellow peoples, or have an foolish, unkind, disgusting words fall from his lips. We must look at the Holy Spirit living in us, and how God himself would do things, for we are a vessel of the light of Christ, and he did not die for us to tramp about and make our mission whilst on earth one of selfish lusts and desires, of materialism and self glorifying. All we do should glorify that which made us, the Lord our God!
21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
To me as a wife, submitting myself unto my husband is a joy, a pleasure for I know that with him, I am his help meet, I am created to respect and love, honour and cherish him, it is why I was created. I am a strong woman and am not a door mat. So when your husband is loving his wife as Christ loves the Church, I know that I have nothing ot worry about. Because my husband listens to my heart and words and does all he can to heal, quell fears and to be the one that must take control when my emotions may not help me see things clear. He is the one whom completes me, is strong when I am weak and is weak where I am strong. I have very specific things I do andhe loves me all the more for it. Submission is to know when to quiet, to listen and do, to know when to trust and when to help. Submission now a days is to know why you were created and to have Christ as your main in your marriage. If you are following God's word, then you shall be honoured to be a submissive wife, and honoured to have a Godly head of the home for husband.
If you are being treated as Christ treats the church and if you are respecting your husband as we all respect the church, then submission is an honour.

Thank you for reading today,
May God bless each of you and your walk with the Lord,
With Him all things are possible!

Featured Modesty. and another post!

I could not help but make a post, about a blog that I have fell in love with, Bramblewood Fashion a band of 2 sisters, that make Modest Clothing, how wonderful,

You Don't see Modesty like this very often, all of her clothing seems to be Very Modest in what I have seen so far :-)

Thank you so much Ashley and Gabrielle for writing a lovely blog, I'm sure we will be doing an interview very soon. but as for now, Lets get to my post.

Girls of today, want to try to be Modest while still in style, I have no problem with that, except, that those two words should never be right next to each other, Modern Modesty, Putting today's clothing and calling it modest, and though in some cases it is Modest, you need to ask yourself the following.

  • Am I pleasing the Lord with what I'm about to wear?
  • Will I be drawing unneeded attention?
  • Will people see Christ in me?
  • Will this cause a Brother in Christ to Stumble?

Can You see your knees? No I'm serious Ladies, This is a problem many girls have, Modesty *appearance wise* is that we put Modern Fashion into Our Modesty views. Test out your wardrobe with a few questions.
  • Can you see your knees or the back of your knees (back leg) while standing up or walking?
  • when you sit down, do you have to fix your skirt and pull and tug on it so no one See's up your skirt or any of your legs?
  • Can people see any bulges from your stomach, Backside, or thighs?
  • Does your shirt cling and make curves, that cause unneeded attention?

These are all questions that need to be ask, sometimes we compromise our views and don't do what we need to do, the truth is, we need to stand up. fix our wardrobes and dress like a Christian striving for Gods own heart.

How can we spread the good news to a lost person, if we don't even look saved? sure, you might be able to win them, True Story: I'm sure this has happened to you.

You get our of the car/van start walking through the parking lot or on a sidewalk, someone is walking out, but what happens?

a Man, even a woman most of the time an older woman, open the door for you, why is that? because they respect you, and your dressed like a lady.

You can say what ever you want ladies, but it's an act of Respect. an old man with a cane that can barely walk, insists on opening the door for you to go ahead in the door first even though you were ahead.

we need to get back to that era, where women dressed like women, and girls dressed like girls. as you can see, what was said above has happened to many ladies, and happened more then a couple handful of times to me, and the ladies in my family.

when you look in the mirror.

  • are you a closed vessel,
  • are you saving yourself. for your future husband, or for your husband. saving yourself for your husbands eyes, that only he should see.
  • Does your husband or father or brother agree with what you are wearing?

if you answered no to any of the above, you need to do something to make it a yes.
before you buy something, if you don't feel comfortable wearing it anywhere and everywhere, then don't buy it, sometimes, we as ladies should pray, if we should get a piece of clothing, though it seems funny, or rather silly, we really should, God will provide you with an answer, as my grandma always said, if it's meant to be, it will be there next time you come.

When it comes to Blouses, ones with buttons you should always buy a size bigger, why? because if you will regret it in the end if you don't imagine sitting there, and you having to sit carefully so you don't bulge or look as if your going to burst open, buy a size bigger,

Ladies, if you can get a trusted Christian friend or your mother, father, or husband to come along with you shopping, it makes it much easier, sometimes our eyes can deceive us in front of the mirror.
I hope that in some way I have helped you, along with something. :-)

Exclusive Party...Only ONE Invitation

Good afternoon ladies. As I shopped in Wal-Mart today and was grieved by the young ladies I saw walking around the store, I was reminded of this letter posted in "I Kissed Dating Goodbye." If you have daughters, I pray you will take it to heart. If you are a daughter consider it closely. I love you all. In Him who cannot fail, Michelle

Don’t Let Your Daughter Send an Invitation to Her Party ~By Trent Griffith Share

If I remember right, the year was 1985. As a pimple-faced high-school senior, I attended
a Christian youth convention along with 7,000 other bundles of exploding hormones (otherwise known as teenagers). The keynote speaker was a young and impressive black preacher who held us on the edge of our seats with his high energy, constant motion, and vivid word pictures. His assignment that day was to call us to a life of moral purity. His passion for the subject was evidenced by the fact that with each point, his voice would raise an octave. At the climax of his message, he turned his attention toward the girls among us. Unhindered by what seemed like gravel on his vocal chords and sweat beads on his forehead, his voice crescendoed with a plea I will never forget: “IF YOU DON’T WANT ME TO COME TO YOUR PARTY, THEN DON’T SEND ME AN INVITATION!” The phenomenon produced by that statement was amazing. Hundreds of young ladies began crossing their arms and tugging at their skirts to try to conceal something that was exposed by immodest clothing. Proverbs 7 introduces us to what the King James Version calls a “strange woman.” The first characteristic identified in her is that she was “dressed as a harlot.” Whatever that means, it is certainly something no parent wants his daughter to be characterized by. So why are parents so reluctant to prevent their daughters from “dressing as harlots”? 1. Many parents are using the wrong standard of comparison. Paul warns us of this when he says, “When they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding” (2 Corinthians 10:12b, ESV). Some parents honestly feel that their daughters are modest compared to what they see in the world. And compared to the immorality they could be involved in, the way they dress seems pretty innocuous. What they fail to understand is that immodest apparel now could be the door to immoral behavior down the road. 2. Moms may have seen their daughters wrongly in competition with other girls, and they may actually be encouraging their daughters not to be outdone by the external appearance of their peers. They may have fallen for the lie that external beauty is of supreme value. They have mistakenly communicated to their daughters, “Pursue all the attention you can get through the way you dress.” Proverbs contrasts the value that God places on internal beauty versus external beauty: “As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion” (11:22, NASB). 3. Dads are usually depending on their wives to regulate their daughters’ apparel. However, as sincere as a mom may be in helping her daughter dress appropriately, she simply cannot see through the eyes of a man. Dads understand in a way moms can’t how the slightest indiscretion in a woman’s dress can place impure thoughts in a man’s mind. Therefore, Dad must get involved. 4. Some dads have such a fragile relationship with their daughters that they are afraid to risk a confrontation that may widen the gap in their relationship. They don’t want to be accused of being the “fashion police” or be viewed as the “bad guy.” Many dads have neglected to invest “parental capital” they can spend when they need to speak the truth in love to their daughters. Girls whose dads who have not given them proper amounts of attention may try to seek the attention of other guys through the way they dress. Dads must recognize how this can set up a young lady for moral impurity. 5. Other dads tragically have been desensitized to the way their daughters dress because of a stronghold of pornography in their life. They simply fail to notice seductive clothing on their daughters because they have so often let their eyes feast on impure images. Now, as the father of three pre-adolescent girls, I have been convicted by God of my responsibility to prevent the invitations from going out with my return address on them. So I’m starting early! I have established the Daddy-Gets-To-See-It-First
policy. Every
time one of my girls gets a new outfit, we have a little fashion show. You should see
how they gleefully eat up the attention of their daddy as I tell them how elegant and
beautiful they are, strolling down the runway. But my purpose is not to see if they are in
fashion. That’s Mom’s expertise. I am looking to see if they are wearing anything in a
way that would cause rounds of hormones to explode in a guy as he looks at my
daughters. I ask myself, “Is it too low, too high, too tight, or otherwise too revealing?
Would what they are wearing cause the eye of a man to be drawn to any part of their
body he has no business dwelling on, thereby sending an invitation to a guy I don’t want
at their party?” If an article of clothing doesn’t pass the test, it finds a new home.
The “Why, Daddy?” questions are answered with a simple, “It’s just not best,” usually
followed by an, “Okay, Daddy.” Frankly, I have found little that would fall into the “not
best” category on my one, four, and eight year olds, but I realize that if I try to implement
my policy when they are eleven, fourteen, or eighteen, I will probably have difficulty
coaxing them down the runway. I figure starting now will ensure they still value my input
when “Okay, Daddy” is harder to get!

Recently I was asked to address the issue of modesty at a local Christian school board
meeting. Several parents had been pressing the school to enforce its dress code. In the
midst of the meeting, one man threw up his hands in frustration that the local churches
had not addressed the issue in their youth groups. That same week I had a discussion
with pastors who were appalled at how parents could allow their children to dress so
immodestly when they came to church. It was a cycle of irresponsibility. The parents
pointed their finger at the school; the school blamed the church; the church leadership
pointed their finger (and rightly so) at the parents.

Let’s break the cycle! Otherwise, Dads, don’t be surprise when unwanted guys start
showing up at your daughter’s party!

Are you standing with the Wise or the Foolish?

What does it mean to be modest as we go about our daily lives as Christian ladies? What does God expect of us?

When you consider what a Christian lady looks like what comes to mind? Do you think of the woman who dresses for success, works outside the home full time, leaves her children in daycare, runs by the fast food place to pick up dinner and hates to clean house? Do you think of the commercial slogan, "I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan..." Probably not

Although our culture has gone far from the Truth of what it means to be a lady, that is no excuse for Christians to go away from the Truth. Let our desire be toward the Lord and Godliness. My heart has been burdened for some time about the condition of the Christian woman, especially as it relates to her household. Our homes are falling apart and Christian homes don't look very different than the homes of the world. Christian women are dressing, talking and behaving just like women who do not have Christ. That ought not be so ladies.

Join me as we begin a study of what the Bible has to say about our lives and what it takes to glorify and honor our Lord and Savior. No matter your age or place in this Christian journey...there is something in the Word for all of us.

We find one of the best job descriptions in Titus 2.

2:3 - 5 "The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

These scriptures are outlining what God expects to be passed on from one generation to the next. It is a road map of what He wants us, as ladies, to be and do.

It's very interesting to look at how these verses are laid out. We have four basic instructions:
1.) behavior as becometh holiness,
2.) not false accusers,
3.) not given to much wine and
4.) teachers of good things.

And then we see a description of the "good things" we are to teach: to be sober, to love our husband, to love our children, discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, and obedient to OUR OWN husband.

The verses end by telling us why we should do these things: that the Word of God be NOT blasphemed. Ladies, have you considered that your life may be blaspheming the very Lord you claim to love? The ONE who died for us in order to provide a way of salvation. As we go through these verses in my next few post, I ask that you pray and ask the Lord to open your heart and mind to His will for your life. If something I say hits you hard and steps on your toes, take it to the Lord and ask Him if there is something that needs to be changed. I'll be praying for each of you as you seek after the Lord and that He would refine each of us into His own image so that our testimonies would not blaspheme Him, but rather glorify Him.

This week I’d like to focus on “our part” of the instruction; that of receiving and applying the teaching. Our understanding and application of the teaching we receive will be evident in our character and behavior. How or how soon we apply it will demonstrate our hearts’ desire---if our hearts’ desire is to fully yield to the Spirit of God then the instruction will be well received---even fervently desired.

How well do you receive teaching or instruction? Does your pride come to the surface and make you fight for your rights or your viewpoint?
When we are given instruction, let us take it to the Lord and ask Him to reveal any dross that needs to be removed from our lives.
Obedience always requires us to give up our ways and seek His ways.

When we receive and apply instruction, others are often aware or even affected by changes we make or have made in our lives. Sometimes changes we make may cause a negative reaction in others. They may question our motives, convictions, or changes and may feel inferior or sensitive that their behavior /decisions stand in judgment or condemnation if convictions differ. As we implement the changes God asks of us, let us do so in all modesty and humbleness. Here are some good questions to ask yourself as we continue the study.

  1. How do you handle the negative reactions of others to changes/decisions/convictions you make or maintain?
  1. If you have received criticism (negative) have you remained gracious in your thoughts and speech?
  1. Do you bring undue criticism upon yourself?
  1. How do you handle praise for positions you hold?
  1. Are there changes you perceive the LORD convicting you to make that you are nervous/anxious/fearful to make?
  1. What does your husband think/say?

Ladies, lets take this week to challenge ourselves in this first area: receiving and applying instruction. That is a difficult thing for us to do as prideful creatures, but the Word tells us that a wise man hears and receives instruction. It is the foolish man who does not heed it. Will you be wise or foolish.

I encourage you to go through these verses and ask the Lord to help you understand the Truths and change the areas that need to be changed. We must surrender this first area before we are ready to learn about Godly behavior.
Have a great weekend ladies.

In Him who cannot fail, Michelle

Did you know that God has 22,680 Attributes?

What words do you think of when you hear the word, "GOD".?

  • Fear

  • Destruction

  • Anger

  • Love

  • Compassion

  • Mercy

  • Grace

  • Salvation

  • Father, Parent

To to name a few, although I never really thought about it. God is this infinite wisdom, He is the creator of all things, He is the giver of my life, He is the taker of Life, He is the Saviour that we oh so desperatley need, and yet, we want to call out, we want to cry out to Him, but what do we really know of Him.....Really?

To understand the Lords ways, to really grasp all He has to say to me, to you, to our families, friends, and all humanity; you have to really delve into His Word. We cannot fully understand Him unless we put in the time to really come to Him. When you want to learn something you go to school, when you want to learn about someone you ask them questions, when you love someone you put them first, when you................Its the same with getting to know the Lord.

You ask, "Whats this got to do with how I dress or How I do not dress, Hows this got anything to do with me wearing pants, skimpy revealing clothing, ect.?"

If you don't truly know and understand what, where, who, why and how God spoke then you will always want to rebel against what others "say" you are supposed to dress. God's word lays out the instructions for how we should live, dress, talk, walk everything. If we do not truly know, live, walk and talk it, what example are we really setting. What relationship do we truly have with the Lord? How are we being at walking in the Army of Christ? How are you looking when others look at you as an AMBASSODOR of the Lord?

Wow, thats really hard to chew, you mean I have to take responsibilty for all of that when I wake up and get dressed in the morning, that way to heavy!

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying! You are a DAUGHTER OF CHRIST! Do not ever forget it. You are iin the spotlight whether you want to be or not. How you do everything is in a constant scruitiny. How then do we live, walk, talk and carry ourselves in the real world when all eyes are constantly on us:

  • judging us

  • mocking us

  • waiting for us to fail

  • watching for us to compromise

  • watching for us to do anything that they can label so as to discredit God

Oh my goodness, why, how, oh so overwhelming.....

God called us to walk in the ways of Him, He promised to hold us strong, He never once promised it was going to be easy.

God is there when your tears start to fall, when your lips quiver, when your cheeks begin to redden, when your chin starts to slip.....God places His wonderful hands and cups your chin, this way to ensure you keep it held High. He is there when your feet slip and you are sure to fall, He comes and He places a Heavenly stone to catch you and Keep you in His ways.

Sisters, Friends of Christ I stand here and shout

"Keep your eyes on the Lord, keep your heart overflowing with the Word and Promises of God, keep your mind sharp with the knowledges of the Lord, Keep your spirit open for Him only. Keep your Bible near to you on every level, when all seems to engulf you and drown you, Remember that the Lord will always keep you, the Lord will protect you, the Lord will never let you down, He only will lift you up. Even in the worst, He lifts and calls you home. The world can tear at the flesh, beat the flesh, hurt the flesh, but you have something that runs deeper and eternally, Get to know God today, and keep Him always and ALLOW Him to keep You always!"

  1. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live iin the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 ATTRIBUTE=GOD LOVES THE SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN

  2. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not williing that any should persih, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 ATTRIBUTE=GOD LOVES THE WORLD

  3. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and sleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought me to love their wives as their own bodies. he that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his ownl flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:25 ATTRIBUTE= GOD LOVES THE CHURCH

The more we know of the living God, the Word of God the more we want, pursue, are convicted to walk, talk, be a likelyhood of Christ, then the things of this world will grow strangely dim. The wyles of the world will no longer be a strong hinderance, we will be able to be the example of the God fearing, God loving, God walking, God talking, Women that He Himself called us to be. God knew you before you were even concieved He has a plan for you, all and any trials and tribulations will lead you to know Him more, will lead you to the woman he created you to be! In the eye of the storm, Praise God, Count your blessing, remember that every horrible, horrid hateful thing that worlds ways can do, remember that it only drives you closer to God...So buckle up, here we go...............Bring it on!

I PRAY THAT YOU SEEK AND FIND HIM, THAT YOUR THIRST FOR GOD IS UNQUENCHED THAT IT IS ALWAYS THIRSTING SENDING YOU TO THE FATHER FOR ALL THAT YOU NEED. THAT YOU STAND STRAIGHT AND TALL IN THE LIGHT OF THE LORD, AND BECOME THE EXAMPLE OF A GODLY WOMAN THAT THE LORD CREATED YOU TO BE. MAY YOU BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS EACH AND EVERY DAY!

Dear God lead me to Your Will

What does Modesty mean to you, to your husband, to your children to your family, to your coworkers, and what does Modesty mean to God?

In todays world there are so many distinctions, viewpoints, opinions, changed minds, hardened hearts, pressures and fear. Did you know that God loves you, God wants you to be like Him, God calls you home to love you. How well do you know God?

When I look around at people whom critisize me and my family for our Modesty, Religion, Thoughts and actions, and yes even our dedication to the Lord; it is so hard not to retaliate, to get angry, tell them to take a picture it lasts much longer. I don't know about you but it is so hard to be a daughter of Christ sometimes. Its hard to hold your head high, to walk in the Spirit, to fight against the fleshy desires, to give all to God and to walk in His will.

I am finding the more I get to know, to study, to talk, to seek, to wait, to let go and let God; I find that it does get a little bit easier to be the Child God has created us to be. I would like you to start your journey and let God show you what Modesty is about. Utilize tools such as our blog to give you encouragement, knowledge, insight and friendship. Education is our best tool to fight the spiritual war that rages on. First, we must hide the Word of our Lord in our hearts, for His word is unchanging, His love is never ending, His Will is perfect and we must learn what it is that the Lord wants us to do. Second, we must research and educate ourselves with the knowledge of the meanings, definitions, ect on what modesty means to us.

Lets Start......

Breeches: n. plu. brich'es. Low L. braccoe.
A garment worn by men, covering the hips and thighs. It is now a close garment; but the word formerly was used for a loose garment, now called trowsers, laxoe braccoe.
To wear the breeches is, in the wife, to usurp the authority of the husband.

"And thou shalt make them linne breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unot the thighs they shall reach:" ~Exodus 28:42~

Trowsers: n. plu. s as z
A loos garment worn by males, extending from the waist to the knee or to the ankle, and covering the lower limbs(Websters Dictionary 1828)
Sometimes, trouser, a usu. loose-fitting outer garment for the lower part of the body, having individual leg portions, usu. full length. Also called pants. (Websters 1995)

"They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall haven linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat" ~Eziekiel 44:18~

Hose: n. plu. hosen or hose; pron. hoze, ho'zn
1. Breeches or trowsers
2. Stockings; coverings for the legs. This word in mercantile use, is synoymous with stockings though originally a very different garment.

Trews: n. trousers, esp. short, close fitting tartan trousers worn by certain Schottish-reggiments.
Drawers: in the plural, a close under garment worn on the lower limbs.
Pants:
1. Trousers 2. Underpants esp for women and children, panties
3. Brit. mens underpants esp. long drawers.
Idiom. Wear the Pants.: to have the dominant role, as in a household.

"Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the fiery furnace." ~Daneil 3:21~

From 1 Corith. 11:4 paul intructs the men not to cover thier head when in prayer or prophesying.

Pantaloon:
A garment for males in which breeches and stockings are in a piece; a species of close long trowsers extending to the heels. (Websters 1828)

A man's close-fitting garment for the hips and legs, worn esp. in the 19th century but varying in form from period to period.

The more we know the better equiped we are! The better ability to know false teachings, prophets and "messagers of God" for who they really are. We need to be the one's to ensure we are strong enough and wise to know the difference of God and those who wish us harm.

Modesty:
That lowly temper which accompanies a moderate estimate of one's own worth and importance,. This temper when natural, springs in some measure from timidity, and in young and inexperienced persons, is allied to bashfulness and diffidence. In persons who have seen the world, and lost thier natural timidity, modesty springs no less from principle than from feeling, and is manifested by retiring, unobtrusive manners, assuming les to itself rhan others are willing to yeild, and conceding to others all due honor and respect, or even more than they expect or require.

Modesty, as an act or series of acts, consists in humble, unobtrusive deportment, as opposed to extreme boldness, forwardness, arrogance, presumption, audacity or impudence. Thus we say, the petitioner urged his claims with modesty; the speaker addressedthe audience with modesty.

Moderation; decency.
In females, modesty has the like character as in males; but the word is used also as a synonymous with chastity, or purity, of manners. In this sense, modesty results from purity of mind, or from the fear of disgrace and ignominy fortified by eduaction and principle. Unaffected modesty is the sweetest charm of female excellence, the richest gem in the diadem fo their honor.

Words to ponder:
  • one's own worth
  • lost their natural timidity
  • conceding to others all due honor and respect
  • moderation
  • decency
  • chastity
  • purity
  • fear of disgrace

What does this mean for you, for your daughters, for your sons, for your husband and for your extended families?

When you ponder, pray, read scriptures and talk to God you will know and understand and want to share your knowledge. Remember only you have to ATONE for your actions and only YOU can truly understand what you will be facing at the Judgement seat of Christ. What have you done for heavens sake today.....One person makes the world of difference....Let us Arm ourselves with the Armour of God!

Lets not Compromise.

Ladies I have come to you today, to write a blog, something that has been getting at me, and the Lord has layed it upon my heart to write about it.

God provided a way for women to dress, he provided a way for men to dress, today we have now decided to rebel against God, "I'm not going to hell for dressing like this" "don't tell me I'm wrong" "no one is perfect"
true, your not going to hell, but you will be judged, is it worth rebelling against God?

rebelling against our Creator because of Our Selfish needs or is it Our Fleshly needs?
Your no better then I, because once upon a time I was a pants wearing lady myself. wearing pants is either wrong for all or none, there is NO compromising, many ladies of today compromise, they most popularly compromise in the following ways.

1. Wearing skirts and dresses to church, maybe if people from Church come over throwing on a skirt.

2. Wearing "dressy" slacks to church.(I find this very distasteful and disrespectful to God and church going folks)

3. wearing low cut shirts, sheer shirts, sheer skirts, tight dresses,

4. Buttons!! Ladies be careful with button up dresses, I advise you to get 1 size bigger when buying button up skirts dresses and shirts,

there are too many more to list,
while we try to compromise in many of these ways, or just simply do it carelessly.

I had a funeral to attend about 2 weeks ago for a family member, I had a darker button down dress, it went a little too low for comfort, I had just gotten it from goodwill. I put a black shirt on under it, it worked perfectly, at first I thought I was going to get made fun of for it, but I didn't in fact I actually got compliments, from my grandfather and a few other people. the point wasn't that I was afraid to get made fun of, it was not that I felt uncomfortable, it was that I felt God would not be pleased with it going that low, that if I had to lean over to get something, a brother would've stumbled.

I don't want that do you?
a very good friend of mine made an excellent point when she said the follow, "when ladies get dressed to go out, they know what they are doing, they know when they put on those garments they know whose eyes they need to draw attention to."  I too myself agreed with the statement.

look in the mirror before you even leave your own bedroom or house, ask yourself these questions.

1. is this outfit setting yourself apart from the world?

2. are you glorifying God wearing this?

3. is this going to cause a brother to stare? or stumble.

4. would you wear this in front of a pastor?

5. is this outfit attention grabbing?

ask yourself those questions upon leaving your bedroom or house.
on skirts ladies, if you sit down in a lady-like way, do you still have to guard people from seeing your legs?
if so you need to invest in longer skirts.

I am disgusted by what young and older teenage girls wear into public, shorts shorter then under garments, its as if they are so tight she would have had to have surgery to have them put on, so short that they look like she forgot to put bottoms on.

what is worse? is if their own mother is dressing that way, I was blessed with a Godly mother, that taught me to follow God. I am thankful we serve such a mighty God. so loving, and long suffering.
Ladies I pray that if you are still wearing pants or short shorts that you take a moment to think about this. please go ahead and pray for a moment in prayer.

Thank You For reading.

The way women dress IS the business of men other than their husbands and fathers!

In the world we have very beautiful women; although on average most of these women dress in a provocative manner.

We all know the manner.....Skirts and shorts that provide the legs to be miles long and oh so close to a place that shant be mentioned, the shirts that might as well not be, the jeans that provide the perfect silloette of the hind parts and the front parts....Why do they dress this way?

Well, you ask them and they usually say, "It's my body and I have It I am going to flaunt it!"
Well, these are the same women who put more wiggle in the behind whilst walking past men, whom swoon over the attractive sexual attention ect. These are the same women whilst talking with others; will say they want equality with men, they hate the cat calls and the whistles, they hate the men whom look at pornography, they infact detest it.......WHAT IS IT THEY THINK THEY ARE DOING THAT IS SO MUCH BETTER?

When put into context what are other men thinking/secretly lusting about your wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin and other women in your life?

What are we enabling those men to think or lust after....... Let's do a check...

  1. How's you shape of your body today?
  2. Is your clothing accentuating your figure?
  3. Is your clothing causing men to draw attention to a particular body part?
  4. For examples: tight pants, skirts, shirts, sweaters, shorts, bathing suits, tight or clining dresses? (For the Record I believe only in Skirts and Dresses but I have put in pants and shorts for those whom are not yet convicted in this area!)

"For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies..." ~Matthew 15:19~

"But I say unto you, That whosever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath commited adultery with her already in his heart." ~Matthew 5:28~

I believe how "we" as Godly women should care what other men are thinking about what I wear...I do not want men to look at me and lust at any part of my body, I want my husband to be the only one whom looks to me with love, intimacy and longing, and only to be shared between husband and wife in the privacy of their bedrooms.

"Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man." ~Isaiah 47:2-3~

I do not want to be part of the Unisex aspect of modern fashions I want to be a God Fearing Woman!

"Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of paiting the hair, and of wearing gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the Hidden man of the heart, in that which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being subjection unto their own husbands."~1 Peter 3:3-5~

I want to be a women of a meek and quiet spirit, I want to be a woman whom does not wear immodest attire, A woman whom goes out of the way in order to avoid even the appearance of evil.

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil."

~ 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22~

I want to be a woman whom does not want to offend anyone or cause others to stumble or fall.

"But take heed lest by any means this liberty yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak...Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend." ~1 Corinthians 8:9, 13~

My dear sister in Christ how are other men seeing you today? A woman's attitude toward these things reveals her spiritual condition. How's yours today?

Thank you for reading,

With Him all things are possible,

Stacey

I got the Idea for this post from an article written by David W. Cloud titled "Are men lusting after your wife or daughter?" and I wrote this post from my own personal opinion.

Come meet some ladies...

Our appearance says something about us. What is yours saying? Check out this group of ladies and see if you find yourself amongst them.

1. Loud Linda- Linda is the life of the party. She loves to shop and loves to have outlandish clothes that capture every persons attention. She never walks in a room without being noticed because the colors are always bright and everything matches. Her jewelry is big and bold and when you see her your first thought is "WOW."

2. Frumpy Freda- Freda is the girl that says she doesn't care what anyone thinks about what she wears. She is comfortable after all. Her clothes are usually too big, overly baggy and if they match that is merely by accident. We're not sure if she brushes her hair with any regularity. When ask about it Freda will talk about her belief in modesty and Godliness, with a very pious attitude, of course.

3. Loose Lizzy- Look out cause here comes Lizzy. Husbands need to look the other way and small boys need to be sent to play. Lizzy's skirts are usually too tight and always too short. Her blouse is too tight, too low or both. Lizzy has it and doesn't mind flaunting it. The good Lord blessed her with a good figure, why should she hide it under a bushel?

4. Executive Emma- Oh Emma....she is the business, career woman in our group. Always in the business suits, tailored to fit just right. Her skirts are perfectly tailored to accentuate her curves, her jacket is also tailored to focus on the gentle curve of her hips yet all the while maintaining a business like look. Of course, Emma wear heels everywhere she goes and holds her head high. Emma is woman...hear her roar!

5. Borderline Bertha- Bertha could be skinny or fat. She doesn't necessarily do things on purpose to expose herself, she just doesn't do anything on purpose to NOT expose herself. Her tops may not be as low. Maybe her tops are only low when she leans over. And maybe her skirt is right on the border, until she bends over in a very unladylike manner. She walks right up to the line and stays there. She does after all want to be fashionable.

6. Tomboy Teresa- watch out when Teresa plays a game with the group. She may knock you over. She can usually be found in anything made of jean material and walking like a boy. Teresa would prefer to hang out with the guys instead of the girls. Wear something ladylike and maybe even pink? NEVER! Fix her hair? I don't think so. A ponytail is sufficient. And makeup will never touch her face. Too much bother. She is clean after all and why should anyone care what she looks like?

7. Modest Mary- Mary carries herself with grace and style. She can usually be found in a fashionably nice, feminine dress that doesn't call attention to one part of her, but to the entire picture. Depending on her age she may wear a bit of make up and perhaps a piece of jewelry, but never so much as to look "made up" or draw attention. Mary doesn't mind doing extra shopping to find things that fit right, are modest yet not frumpy. Her attitude is not one of power and boldness, but of meekness and gentleness. When you are with Mary you feel more calm and peaceful.

These are just a few of the possibilities. Did you find yourself among them? If you do, ask yourself is that the kind of message you want to send? Notice that it is not only about how these ladies dress, but it is an attitude they exude. How you dress will affect your attitude.

As I look back over my life I have seen different qualities from a few of these women at different times in my life. This is not something we settle once and never struggle with. The Christian life is a battle and we will face trials and temptations, pressures and struggles. We cannot do this alone. It is only by God's grace and strength that we can come out from among them and be holy, set apart unto our Lord.
God puts others in our lives to help strengthen us too.

My suggestion to you would be to not only ask yourself, but ask your husband, father or mother to give you an accountability check. We can all falter and slip and need others to come along side us and help us.

Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

You are loved dear sisters.

Let's Help a Sister Out

My dear sisters in Christ,

Summer is here and with it comes some fun activities. I live in Houston, Texas and let me tell you...it gets HOT! We regularly see temperatures above 100 and the humidity can make it worse. Our family loves summertime. The kids are home from college and we can enjoy spending time together: traveling, gardening, working in the yard and just playing and laughing together.
Summer can also be a difficult time. With the rising temperatures usually come the plunging necklines, extremely short or no sleeves on the shirts and the shorter skirts. Notice, I said skirts. Yes, there is a problem with shorts etc., but today I want to talk to my sisters in the Lord who are somewhat conscious of the issue of modesty, but perhaps drop standards as the temperatures climb. This is seen in churches across the country, but we sure do see a lot of it here in the great state of Texas. Ladies who have talked about modesty and Godly living all Winter, now begin to talk about going to the public pool (we all know their children MUST be able to cool off in the hot summer) and dressing in clothing that they deem "summer clothes" so they can stay cool. I will deal with swimming in a future post, but for today let's talk about Summer dress.

Sisters, I want to ask you to consider something: when you dress for the day, what are you doing to the men around you? Do you care about your marriage? How about your friends marriages, or your parents marriage?

Did you know that the things you choose to wear, or not wear, can affect the men around you and in turn help protect or destroy marriages? That is a heavy responsibility, but it is ours to bear. Consider for a moment a Wednesday night service at your church. Perhaps a man walks into that service worn down by the work of the week. He is looking forward to being refreshed from Gods' Word and needs a spiritual recharge from the Lord.
He sits down and looks to his right:

sitting there is a young lady dressed in a shorter skirt; legs crossed and exposing things that this man should not have to look at. His defenses are weakened and his look lingers. Now picture with me that it is time to stand and sing. Let's imagine that we are singing "Nothing Between" (one of my all time favorites.) The older lady in front of him reaches behind her to move her Bible....her blouse is low cut and this poor brother cannot help but be exposed to her cleavage.

Consider these situations that happen on a regular basis in the most conservative churches. Who is at fault ladies? Is the man responsible? Of course he is. Ultimately he is responsible.

Pro 4:23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
Pro 6:25 "Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids." However, she DOES hold some responsibility in the matter. I came across this quote by Arthur Pink this week that is very appropriate in this matter:

Again, if lustful looking be so grievous a sin, then those who dress and expose themselves with desires to be looked at and lusted after-as Jezebel, who painted her face, tired her head, and looked out of the window (2 Kings 9:30)-are not less, but even more guilty. In this matter it is only too often the case that men sin, but women tempt them so to do. How great, then, must be the guilt of the great majority of the modern misses who deliberately seek to arouse the sexual passions of our young men? And how much greater still is the guilt of most of their mothers for allowing them to become lascivious temptresses?

I do not believe that there is a woman alive today who does not recognize the power we, as ladies, have over men and the effect that our bodies can have on them. Women's bodies are used to sell everything in our society. Our men are faced with pornography everywhere: billboards, movies, magazines, in the workplace, crowds etc. Ladies, I want you to ask yourself if our dear brothers should also be faced with this from their sisters in Christ. Should we not at least respect them and their families enough to give them a place of quiet peace from the world? Shouldn't they be able to come to church and not be afraid of what they will be exposed to? Of course, if a visitor comes into our assembly that is a different matter, but that isn't our discussion for today.

Setting aside, for a moment, the matter of agreement or disagreement with specific garments....could you not, for those few hours, dress modestly for the sake of your brothers and sisters?

1Co 8:13 "Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend."

Although some good people may disagree about some of the specifics, we cannot disagree on the fact that modesty is necessary and biblical. It started in Genesis 3 when God was not satisfied with the clothing that Adam and Eve had made so He fashioned them new clothes. We see modesty taught all through the Word. 1 Timothy 2:9-10, 1 Peter 3:3-4 and the list goes on.

Ladies,
Let's covenant with one another to help build up one anothers families, not tear them down.

In Him who cannot fail,
Michelle
