Some women have a misconception of what feminine means. Webster's Dictionary defines feminine as, "belonging to or characteristic of womankind; having qualities, as modesty, delicacy, tenderness, tact, etc." These are qualities what every woman should possess, so why would some believe that feeling feminine is immodest? Dressing feminine (wearing dresses or skirts) should make us feel more like a lady.
Almost all men recognize the difference between a woman wearing a dress or skirt and a woman dressed in pants or shorts. Men open doors, help lift things, and show respect to women that are actually dressed like women. Deuteronomy 22:5 says, "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God."
So why wear pants? I've heard women say they do it for comfort. Having a dress or skirt on is very comfortable. In the summertime a flowing dress is so much cooler than a pair of jeans. In the wintertime you can put tights on under the dress and be just as warm as pants. I've also heard women say they can't do all things in jeans. I can do anything in a dress or skirt that I should be doing. I can garden, ride a bike, exercise, and run.
I never want men looking at me because of what I'm wearing. I don't need attention to make me feel good. I dress to please the Lord and to please my husband. If I am pleasing to the Lord, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. After you surrender to the Lord and make the decision to only wear clothing that pertaineth to a woman, you will see how you will be blessed. It becomes a way of life and second nature.
Why to we need to please men, when we should be pleasing God. when your a mother, you take on a whole new role of maturity, you have responsibilities, to take care of the house, being a homemaker, and to submit and please your husband.
To bring up your children with Love and Care with strength, to love and serve the Lord, to not be like the world, to raise them up to be strong to face this world with reliance on God.

Lets not Compromise.
Ladies I have come to you today, to write a blog, something that has been getting at me, and the Lord has layed it upon my heart to write about it.
God provided a way for women to dress, he provided a way for men to dress, today we have now decided to rebel against God, "I'm not going to hell for dressing like this" "don't tell me I'm wrong" "no one is perfect"
true, your not going to hell, but you will be judged, is it worth rebelling against God?
rebelling against our Creator because of Our Selfish needs or is it Our Fleshly needs?
Your no better then I, because once upon a time I was a pants wearing lady myself. wearing pants is either wrong for all or none, there is NO compromising, many ladies of today compromise, they most popularly compromise in the following ways.
1. Wearing skirts and dresses to church, maybe if people from Church come over throwing on a skirt.
2. Wearing "dressy" slacks to church.(I find this very distasteful and disrespectful to God and church going folks)
3. wearing low cut shirts, sheer shirts, sheer skirts, tight dresses,
4. Buttons!! Ladies be careful with button up dresses, I advise you to get 1 size bigger when buying button up skirts dresses and shirts,
there are too many more to list,
while we try to compromise in many of these ways, or just simply do it carelessly.
I had a funeral to attend about 2 weeks ago for a family member, I had a darker button down dress, it went a little too low for comfort, I had just gotten it from goodwill. I put a black shirt on under it, it worked perfectly, at first I thought I was going to get made fun of for it, but I didn't in fact I actually got compliments, from my grandfather and a few other people. the point wasn't that I was afraid to get made fun of, it was not that I felt uncomfortable, it was that I felt God would not be pleased with it going that low, that if I had to lean over to get something, a brother would've stumbled.
I don't want that do you?
a very good friend of mine made an excellent point when she said the follow, "when ladies get dressed to go out, they know what they are doing, they know when they put on those garments they know whose eyes they need to draw attention to." I too myself agreed with the statement.
look in the mirror before you even leave your own bedroom or house, ask yourself these questions.
1. is this outfit setting yourself apart from the world?
2. are you glorifying God wearing this?
3. is this going to cause a brother to stare? or stumble.
4. would you wear this in front of a pastor?
5. is this outfit attention grabbing?
ask yourself those questions upon leaving your bedroom or house.
on skirts ladies, if you sit down in a lady-like way, do you still have to guard people from seeing your legs?
if so you need to invest in longer skirts.
I am disgusted by what young and older teenage girls wear into public, shorts shorter then under garments, its as if they are so tight she would have had to have surgery to have them put on, so short that they look like she forgot to put bottoms on.
what is worse? is if their own mother is dressing that way, I was blessed with a Godly mother, that taught me to follow God. I am thankful we serve such a mighty God. so loving, and long suffering.
Ladies I pray that if you are still wearing pants or short shorts that you take a moment to think about this. please go ahead and pray for a moment in prayer.

Let's Help a Sister Out
My dear sisters in Christ, Summer is here and with it comes some fun activities. I live in Houston, Texas and let me tell you...it gets HOT! We regularly see temperatures above 100 and the humidity can make it worse. Our family loves summertime. The kids are home from college and we can enjoy spending time together: traveling, gardening, working in the yard and just playing and laughing together. Summer can also be a difficult time. With the rising temperatures usually come the plunging necklines, extremely short or no sleeves on the shirts and the shorter skirts. Notice, I said skirts. Yes, there is a problem with shorts etc., but today I want to talk to my sisters in the Lord who are somewhat conscious of the issue of modesty, but perhaps drop standards as the temperatures climb. This is seen in churches across the country, but we sure do see a lot of it here in the great state of Texas. Ladies who have talked about modesty and Godly living all Winter, now begin to talk about going to the public pool (we all know their children MUST be able to cool off in the hot summer) and dressing in clothing that they deem "summer clothes" so they can stay cool. I will deal with swimming in a future post, but for today let's talk about Summer dress.
Sisters, I want to ask you to consider something: when you dress for the day, what are you doing to the men around you? Do you care about your marriage? How about your friends marriages, or your parents marriage?

Did you know that the things you choose to wear, or not wear, can affect the men around you and in turn help protect or destroy marriages? That is a heavy responsibility, but it is ours to bear. Consider for a moment a Wednesday night service at your church. Perhaps a man walks into that service worn down by the work of the week. He is looking forward to being refreshed from Gods' Word and needs a spiritual recharge from the Lord. He sits down and looks to his right:
sitting there is a young lady dressed in a shorter skirt; legs crossed and exposing things that this man should not have to look at. His defenses are weakened and his look lingers. Now picture with me that it is time to stand and sing. Let's imagine that we are singing "Nothing Between" (one of my all time favorites.) The older lady in front of him reaches behind her to move her Bible....her blouse is low cut and this poor brother cannot help but be exposed to her cleavage.
Consider these situations that happen on a regular basis in the most conservative churches. Who is at fault ladies? Is the man responsible? Of course he is. Ultimately he is responsible.
Pro 4:23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Pro 6:25 "Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids." However, she DOES hold some responsibility in the matter. I came across this quote by Arthur Pink this week that is very appropriate in this matter:
Again, if lustful looking be so grievous a sin, then those who dress and expose themselves with desires to be looked at and lusted after-as Jezebel, who painted her face, tired her head, and looked out of the window (2 Kings 9:30)-are not less, but even more guilty. In this matter it is only too often the case that men sin, but women tempt them so to do. How great, then, must be the guilt of the great majority of the modern misses who deliberately seek to arouse the sexual passions of our young men? And how much greater still is the guilt of most of their mothers for allowing them to become lascivious temptresses?I do not believe that there is a woman alive today who does not recognize the power we, as ladies, have over men and the effect that our bodies can have on them. Women's bodies are used to sell everything in our society. Our men are faced with pornography everywhere: billboards, movies, magazines, in the workplace, crowds etc. Ladies, I want you to ask yourself if our dear brothers should also be faced with this from their sisters in Christ. Should we not at least respect them and their families enough to give them a place of quiet peace from the world? Shouldn't they be able to come to church and not be afraid of what they will be exposed to? Of course, if a visitor comes into our assembly that is a different matter, but that isn't our discussion for today.
Setting aside, for a moment, the matter of agreement or disagreement with specific garments....could you not, for those few hours, dress modestly for the sake of your brothers and sisters?
1Co 8:13 "Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend."
Although some good people may disagree about some of the specifics, we cannot disagree on the fact that modesty is necessary and biblical. It started in Genesis 3 when God was not satisfied with the clothing that Adam and Eve had made so He fashioned them new clothes. We see modesty taught all through the Word. 1 Timothy 2:9-10, 1 Peter 3:3-4 and the list goes on.
