Featured Modesty. and another post!

I could not help but make a post, about a blog that I have fell in love with, Bramblewood Fashion a band of 2 sisters, that make Modest Clothing, how wonderful,

You Don't see Modesty like this very often, all of her clothing seems to be Very Modest in what I have seen so far :-)

Thank you so much Ashley and Gabrielle for writing a lovely blog, I'm sure we will be doing an interview very soon. but as for now, Lets get to my post.

Girls of today, want to try to be Modest while still in style, I have no problem with that, except, that those two words should never be right next to each other, Modern Modesty, Putting today's clothing and calling it modest, and though in some cases it is Modest, you need to ask yourself the following.

  • Am I pleasing the Lord with what I'm about to wear?
  • Will I be drawing unneeded attention?
  • Will people see Christ in me?
  • Will this cause a Brother in Christ to Stumble?

Can You see your knees? No I'm serious Ladies, This is a problem many girls have, Modesty *appearance wise* is that we put Modern Fashion into Our Modesty views. Test out your wardrobe with a few questions.
  • Can you see your knees or the back of your knees (back leg) while standing up or walking?
  • when you sit down, do you have to fix your skirt and pull and tug on it so no one See's up your skirt or any of your legs?
  • Can people see any bulges from your stomach, Backside, or thighs?
  • Does your shirt cling and make curves, that cause unneeded attention?

These are all questions that need to be ask, sometimes we compromise our views and don't do what we need to do, the truth is, we need to stand up. fix our wardrobes and dress like a Christian striving for Gods own heart.

How can we spread the good news to a lost person, if we don't even look saved? sure, you might be able to win them, True Story: I'm sure this has happened to you.

You get our of the car/van start walking through the parking lot or on a sidewalk, someone is walking out, but what happens?

a Man, even a woman most of the time an older woman, open the door for you, why is that? because they respect you, and your dressed like a lady.

You can say what ever you want ladies, but it's an act of Respect. an old man with a cane that can barely walk, insists on opening the door for you to go ahead in the door first even though you were ahead.

we need to get back to that era, where women dressed like women, and girls dressed like girls. as you can see, what was said above has happened to many ladies, and happened more then a couple handful of times to me, and the ladies in my family.

when you look in the mirror.

  • are you a closed vessel,
  • are you saving yourself. for your future husband, or for your husband. saving yourself for your husbands eyes, that only he should see.
  • Does your husband or father or brother agree with what you are wearing?

if you answered no to any of the above, you need to do something to make it a yes.
before you buy something, if you don't feel comfortable wearing it anywhere and everywhere, then don't buy it, sometimes, we as ladies should pray, if we should get a piece of clothing, though it seems funny, or rather silly, we really should, God will provide you with an answer, as my grandma always said, if it's meant to be, it will be there next time you come.

When it comes to Blouses, ones with buttons you should always buy a size bigger, why? because if you will regret it in the end if you don't imagine sitting there, and you having to sit carefully so you don't bulge or look as if your going to burst open, buy a size bigger,

Ladies, if you can get a trusted Christian friend or your mother, father, or husband to come along with you shopping, it makes it much easier, sometimes our eyes can deceive us in front of the mirror.
I hope that in some way I have helped you, along with something. :-)

Dear God lead me to Your Will

What does Modesty mean to you, to your husband, to your children to your family, to your coworkers, and what does Modesty mean to God?

In todays world there are so many distinctions, viewpoints, opinions, changed minds, hardened hearts, pressures and fear. Did you know that God loves you, God wants you to be like Him, God calls you home to love you. How well do you know God?

When I look around at people whom critisize me and my family for our Modesty, Religion, Thoughts and actions, and yes even our dedication to the Lord; it is so hard not to retaliate, to get angry, tell them to take a picture it lasts much longer. I don't know about you but it is so hard to be a daughter of Christ sometimes. Its hard to hold your head high, to walk in the Spirit, to fight against the fleshy desires, to give all to God and to walk in His will.

I am finding the more I get to know, to study, to talk, to seek, to wait, to let go and let God; I find that it does get a little bit easier to be the Child God has created us to be. I would like you to start your journey and let God show you what Modesty is about. Utilize tools such as our blog to give you encouragement, knowledge, insight and friendship. Education is our best tool to fight the spiritual war that rages on. First, we must hide the Word of our Lord in our hearts, for His word is unchanging, His love is never ending, His Will is perfect and we must learn what it is that the Lord wants us to do. Second, we must research and educate ourselves with the knowledge of the meanings, definitions, ect on what modesty means to us.

Lets Start......

Breeches: n. plu. brich'es. Low L. braccoe.
A garment worn by men, covering the hips and thighs. It is now a close garment; but the word formerly was used for a loose garment, now called trowsers, laxoe braccoe.
To wear the breeches is, in the wife, to usurp the authority of the husband.

"And thou shalt make them linne breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unot the thighs they shall reach:" ~Exodus 28:42~

Trowsers: n. plu. s as z
A loos garment worn by males, extending from the waist to the knee or to the ankle, and covering the lower limbs(Websters Dictionary 1828)
Sometimes, trouser, a usu. loose-fitting outer garment for the lower part of the body, having individual leg portions, usu. full length. Also called pants. (Websters 1995)

"They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall haven linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat" ~Eziekiel 44:18~

Hose: n. plu. hosen or hose; pron. hoze, ho'zn
1. Breeches or trowsers
2. Stockings; coverings for the legs. This word in mercantile use, is synoymous with stockings though originally a very different garment.

Trews: n. trousers, esp. short, close fitting tartan trousers worn by certain Schottish-reggiments.
Drawers: in the plural, a close under garment worn on the lower limbs.
Pants:
1. Trousers 2. Underpants esp for women and children, panties
3. Brit. mens underpants esp. long drawers.
Idiom. Wear the Pants.: to have the dominant role, as in a household.

"Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the fiery furnace." ~Daneil 3:21~

From 1 Corith. 11:4 paul intructs the men not to cover thier head when in prayer or prophesying.

Pantaloon:
A garment for males in which breeches and stockings are in a piece; a species of close long trowsers extending to the heels. (Websters 1828)

A man's close-fitting garment for the hips and legs, worn esp. in the 19th century but varying in form from period to period.

The more we know the better equiped we are! The better ability to know false teachings, prophets and "messagers of God" for who they really are. We need to be the one's to ensure we are strong enough and wise to know the difference of God and those who wish us harm.

Modesty:
That lowly temper which accompanies a moderate estimate of one's own worth and importance,. This temper when natural, springs in some measure from timidity, and in young and inexperienced persons, is allied to bashfulness and diffidence. In persons who have seen the world, and lost thier natural timidity, modesty springs no less from principle than from feeling, and is manifested by retiring, unobtrusive manners, assuming les to itself rhan others are willing to yeild, and conceding to others all due honor and respect, or even more than they expect or require.

Modesty, as an act or series of acts, consists in humble, unobtrusive deportment, as opposed to extreme boldness, forwardness, arrogance, presumption, audacity or impudence. Thus we say, the petitioner urged his claims with modesty; the speaker addressedthe audience with modesty.

Moderation; decency.
In females, modesty has the like character as in males; but the word is used also as a synonymous with chastity, or purity, of manners. In this sense, modesty results from purity of mind, or from the fear of disgrace and ignominy fortified by eduaction and principle. Unaffected modesty is the sweetest charm of female excellence, the richest gem in the diadem fo their honor.

Words to ponder:
  • one's own worth
  • lost their natural timidity
  • conceding to others all due honor and respect
  • moderation
  • decency
  • chastity
  • purity
  • fear of disgrace

What does this mean for you, for your daughters, for your sons, for your husband and for your extended families?

When you ponder, pray, read scriptures and talk to God you will know and understand and want to share your knowledge. Remember only you have to ATONE for your actions and only YOU can truly understand what you will be facing at the Judgement seat of Christ. What have you done for heavens sake today.....One person makes the world of difference....Let us Arm ourselves with the Armour of God!

Thank you for reading,
With Him all is possible,
